Bad High Calcium

Zul,

In the 75 gallon tank we have, I try not to do more than a couple gallon change at a time with fresh water, meaning, not adding more than a couple gallons at one time, wait a couple hours, then add again.  It could be that 5 gallons added to the sump still changed the parameters enough to stress any corals that were close to where the water re-enters the tank.  I've actually seen a "swirl" where the water re-enters our tank when I add top-off water after going away for a few days, and not adding it as regularly as I should (man...am I ever looking forward to getting Rico's 155 and getting the auto-top off system set up!).  Just a thought, but it could be the 5 gallon changes every day that caused the problem due to intial local water parameter disturbances.

My live rock is covered with coraline alge. Is this ok or not? How do I reduce the coraline alge? :?:  :?:

Coraline is good.  Other algae can't grow on top of it...and it's pretty.
