I know a guy that's done a number of holes in both glass and acrylic and works pretty cheap.  :p

What size tank and what material you working with?  I'm happy to help you out with the holes if you want.  I'm going to be helping/drilling Leigekiller's 150 tomorrow night in Pasco.
