Title: Halloween Costume Party
Post by: sirfisher on October 17, 2005, 07:38:06 PM
Halloween is one of my favorites and yes I like to dress up.  I want to know who else is going to dress up because we don't want to show up and be the only ones.

Lets make this fun!   I'm going to make some goulish treats or something scary looking.....oh wait, Nacho says some of my food is already scary looking.

Guess Who!

Maybe even make up a cardboard dorsal fin and paint it, then strap it to his back

Or..... I know we have a bunch of extra hoses laying around, turn him into an octopus :P

Wow talk about getting creative.  Don't surprised if Les is just saying he isn't in to the costume thing and then shows up in the best costume of all!

Hey all,

Angela and I will be dressing up also, and we think there will be a $29 cover charge if you show up WITHOUT a costume.  I'm sure if you think real hard Les, you can come up with something.  As for the rest of the club, what do you think about a costume contest?  Just a thought......

Yeah but who's going to judge?  How about Les since he is probably not going to wear a costume?  He may be mad about the cover charge though! :D

You know, we could all chip in and get Les on of those "This is my Costume" T-Shirts.  I'm sure we could find one somewhere.

Angela wants to make sure that we have al the bases covered on the upcoming potluck holloween party.  If everyone could post what they might be bringing, we can make sure we get everything we need.  Thanks for the info

What would you like us to bring? Is this a potluck dinner type meeting or just snacks?

Don't we usually do it as a potluck dinner thing?  What ever usually happens is probably fine.

The annual Halloween activity that we take the kids to is that night, so there's no way for me to make the meeting.

I haven't seen much on who will be attending.  I know this is a tough night because we were also invited to Nacho's Company party which was planned at the last minute, but we figured that we can probably stop by after this meeting because they will most likely party til the wee hours of the night.

So who else will be there and dressing up?

Hey everyone,
If anyone out there left without a platter or a serving spoon, Angela and I are guarding them with our life until you claim them.  So if you left them behind, let us know.  Also, if anyone can let me know how to reduce the size of my digital pictures, I can post them.  And Angela wants to remind everyone of the candle party here  on Sat Nov. 5 from 12 to 3.  Open house style.

Save you pictures from JPG format to BMP using MS paint.  Use the Image/stretch/skew functio and shrink the picture down.  Then file save as back to JPG.  And you are done.  Easy as pie.

I still think it is much easier to install the Microsoft Picture resizing tool and right click on the picture file (*.jpg) and select resize (small, medium or large) and then it is done.  No need to save as bmp or other hoops to jump through.

install the image Resizer tool.

Yes but doesn't this tool overwrite the original file.  You don't want to do that because you end up shrinking your original permanently.  Later on if you want to print some nice 5x7's or 8x10 or some cropping you no longer have a high quality picture to work with.

Actually it makes a copy unless you check the box to NOT make a copy.  It lables the newly sized files as medium***.jpg etc.   It is nice because you can do a resize on an entire folder of pictures and then sort on the name to copy all of the smaller pictures to a different folder.  It is free and functions from the context menu with a right click on the file/folder you want to work on.  Great for its simplicity :)

The powertool resizer worked great!  Thanks Rick.

Try this free program from google if you need a picture indexer (does some other cool stuff too) for your PC.
