April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

The April meeting will be on April 14 at Les's house.  We will be building phosban reactors as a club.  The cost will be $25/ea and I would like to get committments from those who would like to build one, so as not to stick anyone with the acrylic bill.  In addition, you will need a 200-400 gph pump to drive the reactor.  This is the equivilant of a powerhead, or little Rio, or Mag 2, something in that range.  If you could let me know who would like to build a reactor so I can get together with Les and get the parts ordered and cut so we can assemble at the meeting. The club will be supplying hot dogs and burgers, if you could bring side salads, chips, etc to go with the Bar BQWe will start the meeting a  little earlier than usual, probably around 4:00pm or so.  Any quetions, please ask.  Grin

Is there a way I could have this outside the sump (without using bulkheads)?  I'm not real familiar with them, but I know they are a good thing to have.  Just don't know how I'd get it into the system unless I can just have it pull water up over the side then dump back into the sump.

I would like to make one also. I don't know if I will need one, but I would like to get the experience working with acrylic. I will pay for my club membership and for the materials at the meeting.

So it looks like so far there are 5, Nate/Colleen, Paul, Terry, Andy, and myself.  Anyone else let me know and I will add you to the list.

There is a media that goes into the reactor.  Don't know if anyone has any, last I heard ed bought a large batch of the stuff, maybe we could talk him into sharing Roll Eyes

I think I have some left over from when Ed and myself and others bought a bucket. I don't use it anymore so it would be for sale.

I'm sure we can work something out.  We would prefer that you join the club as the dues help to pay for events like this that benefit our club members.

Why don't you introduce yourself?  How long have you been involved in the saltwater hobby?  What do you have for your tank(s)?  We are a great group of people that addicted to keeping saltwater marine and reef tanks.
