January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

All right, I'm going to put in an order Real Soon Now(TM).

At this point I have Nate and Colleen for one bucket of Instant Ocean and Andy for one bucket of Instant Ocean, as well as my own bucket.  With shipping split three ways, that's $33.15 for each of you.

Paul, Ed, Rick, anyone else want to order?

PSA  - if price drops below $28 per bucket shipped, get us 2 buckets of IO.  Thanks!

Nate-
Seeing as the price of the Instant Ocean is $29.49, I don't think it's going to go below $28/bucket shipped.  Smiley

Current Instant Ocean Orders:
1 - Andy
1 - Nate
1 - Paul
2 - Zul
2 - Rick
1 - PSA
=8 buckets

I'm still considering trying the Reef Crystals, but everyone else has specified Instant Ocean.

With shipping, we're currently looking at $31.74 per bucket.
Please get any changes or new orders to me right away; I plan to submit the order this afternoon.

Paul, guess that's a good point.  :p

As for reef crystals...we had a lot more algae issues with it when we used it in the past.   Just an FYI.

I appreciate the feedback, Nate, on the Reef Crystals.  I may end up trying a bucket of each.  I run a number of very small tanks and I've wondered if they would respond well to the additives in the Reef Crystals (it's not really feasible to dose or adjust a 10 gallon tank).  Most issues are handled with regular water changes.

I've been using Oceanic, but am a bit concerned about the long-term impact of the elevated levels of certain metals in the mix.

Order has been submitted as summarized above.  I ordered an extra bucket of Instant Ocean, so the total with shipping is $31.49, or $62.98 for those that ordered two.  Shipping is specified as "within 7 days", so I expect to receive them sometime next week (too bad we didn't do this earlier so that we could distribute them at the meeting).  I will let you know when I have an estimated date of delivery.

Much cheaper than my last couple buckets of salt...

(Nate, where do you get them for $28?!)

I can certainly understand that.  You have a great looking tank there, though!

All of the buckets were shipped separately and are currently spread across three different locations, but they all list next Wednesday, the 18th, as the estimated delivery date.

Thanks Paul.  And thanks for ordering the salt.  I'll be around through Thursday evening next week, so if they show before then, I will plan to stop over that evening to get ours.  Otherwise, it'll be Monday after work (going out with the trailer next weekend).

I could come and pick it up Wednesday night if it comes in. I have to go to Costco at 5:45pm. I can pay you for the salt Saturday afternoon or Wednesday night. Let me know what works best for you.

Thank you  for ordering the buckets of salt.

I will post when the salt comes in.  I really don't want anyone's money until they pick up their salt.  I don't mind holding it for a bit (e.g. Nate) if necessary.

I live in South Richland and can give directions to my place, but I'm sure we can make arrangements if need be to get the salt to you elsewhere.

9 buckets of salt in my driveway, 9 buckets of salt, come right away and take yours away, 8 buckets of salt...

Paul-
I'm currently planning to hold yours until the next time you're in town.

Rick-
I know you were heading out of town tonight, so if I don't hear from you I'll assume you're getting them after you get back.

Everyone else-
You have PMs.  Let me know what you want to do.
