April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

I have two types of yellow acros bleaching.  Doe anyone have any idea why?   I did see the branching hammer shooting out slimeys the night before.   Do the slimeys cause problems for other corals? :?:

I don't think the hammer will cause problems to the Acro.  But Mike Beach was saying his yellow or green slimer acro he got from Rick at the last meeting started to bleach out.  Just pull it out, cut it about a half inch above the bleach.  Dip it in lugols solution and then put the good half back in the tank..

I lost one piece and a half of another.  But thanks for reply.   I am going to invest into a thermometer with alarm if temps bounce too low or high.  I may get another heater for water changes also.   I am hopeing they come in at Aquatic Dreams.   I did a large water change.   I am going to do another tonight.

This is one of the reasons I hate Hard Corals. They are such a pain in the ass to keep. Sometimes all is great, then sometimes it's a real trick to keep them alive.

I have never had bleaching issues with hard corals. But the problems I have is RTN (Rapid Tissue Narcosis). The tissues literaly slimes off.

I put a five dollar fan on the surface of my water.   I also bought another 250 watt titanium Heater.    I recieved my digital thermometer and installed that.   I think it was a temperature issue.   My digital thermometer was going ape until I installed fan inside my canopy.   Now My temp stays inbetween 79-80 degrees.   My temperature was 86 at night a few times before I installed fan.   I hope that was my problem.    I know I am doing ok again right now.   Thanks
