January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

Has anyone used this moon light product?

I found this and was wondering if it was any good. The price does not sound to bad.

Seems pretty spendy.  If you end up running an aquarium controller (like Rick just talked me into getting) such as the Aqua Controller III from Neptune, you can do the same thing with it, and could get away with anything for a moonlight.  I personally like the LED style (470 nm) blue moonlights we used on our 75 gallon (and I'll be moving over to the 155 sometime soon).  I've got something similar to this, but don't think it is quite the same:  http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=ES53401

Petsmart has a fully submergable expanndible system that is reasonablly priced.  The main control "box" is 12.99 and you can plug up to 3 LED lites into them and they run 8.99/ea.  they come in white, blue, red, and green.  Have one blue one in my big tank, just below the surface of the water and it looks pretty cool.

Nate & Andy I to have a pair of these same Lights and they do a very good job! I have been struggling to keep Anthias in a 75 gallon SPS tank of mine, Anthias need to be feed alot but these SPS tanks don't like all that food in there I brings Up Ntrates and More improtantly phosphates.. Roll Eyes Back to the lights they are just like our porch lites getting all the Bugs, Baby clown fish and Baby skunk cleaner shrimp to sit in front  them My Anthias Have learned to dine & Night and by so allowing me to reduce their spacific feedings. Good luck with your choice Andy wait for what your lights will do for your tank...Jeff  Wink
