April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Well, it seems that my Ampmaster 3700 has developed a very irritating hum overnight (after only 2 weeks of use).  Is this common, and is there a fix, or am I going to go insane listening to this thing all the time?  Anyone have any info on this, could it be the seal going out already?  I know that's a fairly common issue with these pumps right?  If so, what do I need to do to get it replaced/fixed so it won't be an issue in the future?

No luck Ed...tried unplugging it and then plugging back in twice.  Still making the same "worn out fan" sound.

Ok, no leaks right?     The other thing I wonder is if something got past your intake and is on the impeller(fan) offsetting the ballance.    Holly Cow!

Les suggested the same thing.  I'm going to do a water change tomorrow and check that very thing!  No leaks, all is well.

Oh...and by the way...we've gone from having 2 fish in this tank to having 21! Cheesy

Well, did the water change and checked the pump.  Found a chunk of Silicone in the impeller, took that out, and viola, it's nice and quiet again! Smiley  I added a nylon mesh intake screen over the pump inlet from the sump to help keep this kind of thing from getting in there again.

Also got my 1/2 inch sea swirl changed out, so it's running for the first time  Cheesy

Now, MAYBE I can start to think about sitting down and enjoying looking at the tank instead of being stressed out about it all the time?   Tongue

Thanks for helping me figure out what was going on guys, this is why I love this club!
