January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

Well, seeing as how I live 1/2 mile from the new Petco, I was chosen to go down and converse with them about the grand opening.  Sat and Sun is when it is happening.  Fish of interest are chromis at $1.50 ea, false percs at $14.99 ea, and with the purchase of the clowns, you get a free 1 oz bag of food pellets.  Their other damsels will be on sale as well, but we all know what happens to damsels.  Please remember that Petco keeps their SG at 1.021 so if you are like a majority of the club, and keep yours at 1.025 your acclimation should take longer than from other vendors.  I was also told at some time in the not to distant future, that they will be able to order fish for you.  You have to pay for the fish in advance, but they cover the shipping in with their regular order.  Check online  pricing to get an idea of the price of the fish.  Another thing you might want to keep in mind, they get their shipments in on Thursday or Friday, and they get in stuff that they don't know what it is.  He was telling me that they had a Scotts Velvet Wrasse (which run $80-140) come in and was labeled as a misc fairy wrasse and they sold it for $19.99.  Someone else told me of the selling purple tangs at $19.99!! Shocked  So keep an eye out, you might find a bargin.  I told him that he was going to have a flood of people for the chromis, so happy hunting. Grin
