April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

I can't believe it.  I have a saltwater critter that has made it almost a week without dying.  I got a peppermint shrimp with the liveaquaria order and it is still alive.  It even cleaned up my aiptasias.  There were a couple big ones too, and it just tore them up.  My first success with salt!  YAY!

Jeff, you gotta tell me your secret.  I put 4 in with the snail order I just got, saw them for ten minutes, and haven't seen them since.  That was 4 days ago.  I have never seen one for more than 10 minutes in my tank, as soon as they go in, they desolve.

The secret is my tank is only 10 gallons. Smiley I even have a hard time finding him in there too.  I can tell he's ok because all of my aiptasia is gone.  He even ate 2 pretty big ones.

Wow! that explains what must have happened to ours because we put 2 in our tank and never seen them again.  We blamed our bristle starfish (I think that's what you call it) and took him out and found him a new home.  They need to call these shrimps "ghost shrimps" .  They're in there but we just can see them.

We just got back from Tacoma because we went to watch our son's Football team play in the Dome this morning at 10:00 with hopes that they would take the championship but they took second place.  They are Single A division and played really close.  My fingernails are gone and my nerves were shot but it was worth making the trip.  Congrats! to the Connell EAGLES!

I had two that were never seen except at feeding time and then only for a few seconds or you would just catch a glimpse of them from behind a rock somewhere.  One night a friend came over to look at the tank after the lights had gone out and when I turned on the lights the shrimp lunged at the top of the water and released a bunch of babies into the water column.     I was in awe for a few seconds before realizing what had just happened only to be dissappointed as my fish woke up and have a feast.

Glad to hear the aiptasia is dissappearing for you too! Cheesy
