January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

Thanks for checking it out guys.

Thanks for the candy cane Carmen and Nacho.  It's doing well.  So are the zoos and the stripey shrooms from John.

I am still looking fore more base rock though.  I don't feel like I have enough in there yet.  Just a few more pounds... Smiley (I know you have all thought that before)

Looks like he's got the hang of it.  Its time to ditch all of those freshwater tanks, and jump into reefing with both feet.  You'll end up with a monster tank eventually, just like we all do.

hehe, probably not. Smiley  I can manage to keep freshwater fish alive.  That's something I can't say about saltwater at this point.  I do want a large salty tank at some point though.  I also want a huge freshwater tank too.  I need a couple more full time jobs to be able to afford all this stuff.

I thought keeping a reef tank was a full time job?

I started with a ten gallon then went, 29g , 55g, and curretnly 150g!  Someday when I grow up I want a tank like Les'!     My upgrades happened over a 4-5 year period.  Starting out small is ok to learn the basics of water chemistry and the natural balance of things but a bigger tank is much easier to take care of due to water volume.

I don't think I want to gradually upgrade to a bigger reef tank.  I think for the next one it's going to be go big or go home.

Did someone say "bitten by the reef bug"?  Cheesy

That's what I'm talking about! Go big or go home!  Remember the MCSAC rule (or is it Les' rule?) anything under three digits is still a nano tank! Cheesy  I had the 150g but compared to Rick's, Les' and Zul's I still felt like I was in the nano league!  Next project 500g!
