January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

Thanks for the info Paul.  I like to watch the different snails and how they 'work' too.  (of course we have no fish to watch yet, so...)  The nerites I have are lazy bums - they do clean, but they seem to always be hitchiking somewhere on the back of an astrea about half their size!  They also like to get all the way to the top of the tank and hang upside down on the underside of the euro bracing.  One even made his way out of the tank entirely and fell off (dummy).  I think I might get some of the green ones, just for fun.  Thanks again.

Sure, I can get you some.  How many do you want?  They are a buck a piece - 6 for 6 bucks.    I need to order today to get it by Friday because I will be out of town next week and Darrel wants me to deal with it.

Everytime I see this thread I want to  post this link to RHF water paremters...This time I could not resist.

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rhf/index.php

I hope this helps people by comparing what Natural Saltwater is composed of and what people achieve or try to set as goals for  Saltwater Aquariums.
I myself still use a formula that Kevin P. gave me.   I try to keep my calcium between 400-420ppm when I dose Calcium.   I try to keep my alk 2.8-3.5.
Those are my targets.    You decide what works for you.  Smiley
