April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Yesterday evening my wife came in to ask me if there was a new fish in the tank.  I said no...why do you ask?

There was a critter of some sort swimming through the tank extremely fast, zipping back and forth at about the rate of four feet per second.  We watched him swim laps around the tank for a bit and finally I grabbed a net and a glass of tank water and snatched him out.  He moved so fast he went straight into the net, once I was lucky enough to guess which way he was going to go next.

What I pulled out looked like a worm, a little over an inch long and still moving rapidly around the glass.  I managed to snag these pictures of him, but have not returned him to the tank on the theory that he's just as likely to be damaging to the tank as beneficial and he had managed to hide pretty well up until he decided to swim about in the open water like a maniac.  I will also point out that the only thing added to this tank in the last month was a kole tang (the only fish) and it died yesterday.  This thing showed up within five minutes of my removing the dead fish.

Well it was worth a shot.  Guess I'll take my pictures somewhere else to see if anyone recognizes them.

I posted it over here: http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12061

I'll give it a few days and then move on to Reef Central (tracing, in reverse, my association with reef websites ).  Hopefully someone along the way will recognize it.
