April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Well as many of you already know, I had an issue with my chiller Monday night/Tuesday morning where the refrigerant coil broke and dumped the refrigerant and refrigerant oil into my tank. This in turn killed all my big fish. After resolving that problem and making sure of the rest of the tank inhabitants well being, I have discovered another problem.
When I arrived home from work today I noticed one of the halides out. I checked out the ballast and found nothing wrong. I decided to change the bulb and lo an behold what do I find? A broken bulb!!! Thank me lucky stars that the bulb shorted out and hopefully did not kill any corals under it.
They say (who???) that bad things always happen in threes. I am dreading the next few days. I shudder to think what is awaiting me next.

By the way, it appears the bulb shattered due to someone or something splashing water on it. What really sucks is that bulb was only 6 weeks old. Or well, guess its only money anyway.

Wow I really hope nothing else goes wrong.  You can't frag fish so losing all the big ones can be costly to replace.  Lights aren't cheap either so I really hope nothing else goes wrong my friend.

Les,
I have a extra 400 watt MH SE bulb if you want to use it.    Jeff did it for me once.   Its the least I can do. I would like to do the same for you.   It has less than three weeks use out of it.   Its a Ushio 20k.    I am working on getting you one if not two Extra Large Nasos.    I have been talking to a friend about this.    I had a pair of Nasos with streamers years ago.   I got them both for 85 bucks a pair then.   I am not sure my friend will do that good Of deal.   I am checking though.
Give me a call or just stop by I did not work a 13 tonight.
Your Friend,
Ed Cheesy
