Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Something came up that doesn't allow me to go to the meeting. Blame it on my stepdaughter. She called and whined and complained that my wife was not going up there to go shopping with her. so, my wifes going to go and that means the meeting is out.

My fingers hurt from all that work. I guess I'm getting athritus or something.

Yes this morning and the nexg few days I will have to syphone out the detritus that falls to the ground as the rock expells the junk.

The say after a few days to a few weeks, live rocks actual trugars out clogged pores.
During this whole thing I have sucked out literally millions of flatworms with zero loss to any fish or my shrimp.

Next I need to run a spraybar along the bottom back of my tank with it hooked up to my closed loop and blowing the detritus out front and hopefully into the water column so that it can be filtered out.

All sand has been removed. My live rock keeps farting dust. So each day I take the tubing and suck out the detritus off the floor of the tank.
I have to clean the glass before I take pictures. Sorry, but I hate scraping glass.

that is a good question...what else causes  brown  :?: algae on the glass?   I am thinking maybe phospates, silicas, improper lighting, any others that cause it you can think of?

I am taking water samples up to Spokane to have tested to see what they find out.

I just did a 1/4 water change today.

Matt,
where are you going to get it tested?   The Coral Reef does this at home.   He has results the next day.  Are you going somewhere else?
