April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

How small?  I have a two nickel sized when expanded polyps.  They were about the size of a closed zooanthid polyp when I got them.  Not sure if I want a frog spawn in my tank but I wanted to see if they would grow from spawns of a mother colony and they are growing.  You can coem by and chek them out anytime you like?

Mike,

I have a "y" shaped frogspwan doing nicely in my tank.  The ends are about the size of a quarter when closed up and probably 2-3" across when opened up.  If you are going to be at the meeting this month, you can take a look and mabye we can split it.  If you are not coming to the meeting you are more than welcome to come by and take a peek.

Hi Angel - just curious - why wouldn't you want one?  I'm only asking because I like frog spawn, and wondered if there was a down side that I am not aware of - educate me!

(I know, Ed - I need to read my Eric Borneman book!   )

They can grow rather quickly and have been known to sting corals around it.  I really want a primarily SPS tank with a little diverstiy and I think my zoos and leather may be enough for now.

Thanks for the info Angel - good to know!  I still like the look of it though - some things to consider.   Thanks again!

I've got a huge one.  I'd be happy to frag it for anyone that wants some.  It's a brown frogspawn, here's a picture from July:

Thanks Angel.  We have to keep a reasonable size chunk of it in there though, or our oucast clown fish won't know where to go to sleep!  Tongue
