January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

Let me start by saying thanks to all who have helped with the project. The end is in sight at last, just a few more dollars and hours to finish it. As you all may know, the dining room side of the cabinet is mostly done. I still have to build the study room side of the cabinet but the lumber is purchased and being sanded at this time.
I have a number of new additions in this tank, Hercules ( Naso Tang) is still alive and fining, and the green leaf wrasse (named Tooth) is still around. I have added a carpenter wrasse, (Ruby) and a few green chromis. (no names) I added a black and white stripped convict blenny (Conrad), a nice sized Achilles tang (Atlas) and another yellow tang (Ra, named after the Egyptian sun god). The last tang I added was a very small Salfin whom I named Zeus. I tried another copperband butterfly but it refused to eat anything I offered, it didn't make it.
The plumbing was done, but I have again changed my mind about things. Due to the noise level, I moved the skimmer pump under the house and isolated it with spa flex. Now the next thing to install is the fuge and at that time I will re-plump the sump/fuge return pump. I will be adding the new Dolphin Ampmaster 2100 I purchased for that under the house. I was very concerned about heating in the tank and when I built the sump I included the chiller evaporator coil in the design. I have since learned that with all that plumbing under the house un-insulated I only have a few degree temperature swings from night to day. (79-81) Since this is within tolerance I will add the chiller when I feel like it. (I'll insulate before fall)

A special thanks to Vicki for taking these pics for me.
Also, the bulk of the corals you'll see belong to Justin.

Hey the pics turned out pretty nice, eh?  I can attest to the fact that in person it is a) much bigger and 2) awesome!   Cheesy Thanks Les for letting my son and I come visit, see the tank and pick your brain for ideas.  One of these days, our 'nano' 150 might actually have some water in it!
