Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Everything must go!
View my list of stuff here: http://www.ryanwright.com/fish.htm

The long story:

I've decided to get out of fishkeeping completely. I love the hobby, however, I have come to a realization that I have too many hobbies. I'm stretched thin and am not really enjoying any of them, so I have decided to get rid of some so I can devote more time and money to those I really enjoy. I have been keeping freshwater fish since the late eighties and got tired of it last year. Decided to give saltwater a go in January as it seemed more interesting. It is, and it's fun, but it's a real time and money hole and quite frankly I'd rather put that investment elsewhere right now.

So everything has to go. I'd like to get it all gone by this weekend if possible. If you want anything, call me at 531-9464. The fish, corals & rock have to go before the equipment, but you can come check the equipment out anytime. If you pay for it I will hold it for you until the creatures that depend on it are gone. I have tried to price everything fairly and inexpensive enough to sell fast.

My address, and directions to my house, are posted there as well, to save myself from repeating it over the phone dozens of times. However, I ask that you please CALL before coming over!

Thanks Zul and Angel.

Angel, I found the new bubble counter. It was underneath the tank, sitting right there. See, I told you I put it in a safe place! Everytime I put something in a "safe place", I can never find it. Wink

Oh, I also have a large, hairy hermit crab here. He's $5. He belongs to a friend of mine, I was "crab sitting" for him, but he doesn't have a place for him now and told me to just sell him. So if anyone needs a giant furry crab, he's here and he's affordable. (He has been known to eat queen conches and was banished to the sump for this behavior.)

If he's a hairy crab he's a zoo eater too.  He would probably be great for a sump or a refugium a a cleaner.

Yep, Zul has paid for the pump. I still have a lot left; I'm making deals, so give me a call if you're interested in anything! If the tanks are not gone by this weekend I'm going to see about putting them on consignment at a fish store; they'll sell them for double what I'm asking, so if you want them, now is the time.

Here's what is left:

    * 65g glass hex tank with stand, plastic/glass top, optional eggcrate top & 45w light fixture. Good condition, has never leaked or otherwise been repaired. This is a very big, beautiful hex tank, we paid over $500; sacrifice for $100.
    * 50g glass sump with glass baffles, ~20g fuge area, eggcrate (& optional half glass) top: $100
    * 29g glass tank, drilled with bulkheads, used 1 month for holding/mixing new saltwater, $35 with float switch (just in case you want to use it for Ro/DI filling like I did).
    * 400 watt metal halide system, pendant, remote magnetic ballast, $125 (includes test bulb, new, only fired once, but unsuitable for aquarium use -- wrong color temperature) -- SALE PENDING
    * Turboflotor Multi skimmer with pump: $125 -- SALE PENDING
    * Coralife 96w 50/50 PC fixture, 5 months use, with optional mounting legs & box: $60
    * Marineland SOS overflow, has never lost siphon in normal conditions (it's been running since January without being reset): $30
    * Magnum canister filter with carbon cartridge & extra (new, high quality) carbon: $50
    * American DJ PC100/A 8 outlet power center, like new $20
    * (4) Maxi-Jet 1200 powerheads, $12/ea -- SALE PENDING ON 2
    * (2) Won Pro-Heat titanium heaters, external temperature controls, forget the wattage but they're somewhere between 200-300 watt. $12/ea.
    * RO water storage/topoff tub, could be made auto-topoff easily (right now I turn the pump on manually when needed, RODI fills it back up automatically), made out of a 5 gallon bucket with lid, float valve for fresh RO water, $5, no pump (I used a maxi-jet 1200, I can sell you one for $12 more)
    * (2) Nice Honeywell "turbo" fans, perfect for cooling tank, $6/ea, nearly brand new
    * Seaweed clip on a magnet (easy to move around in the tank), $2
    * Misc loc-line fittings, 3/4" and 1/2", nozzles, NPT adapters, 3/4" Y, $20
    * Shoulder length "aqua gloves", like new, $10 -- SALE PENDING
    * Schego m2k3 air pump, $10
    * Mag-Float cleaner, $5

Creatures & misc:

    * 2 skunk cleaners $15/ea -- SALE PENDING (Dashia)
    * 2 large peppermint shrimp $5/ea
    * 3 black mollies Free to good home (properly acclimated & living in 1.025sg for months now; 1 male, 2 females; regular live births provide free food for the rest of the tank)
    * Live rock $3/lb
    * Partially live rock (base rock that's been in the tank since January) $2/lb
    * Dry base rock (lots of small rubble for frags, some larger pieces) $1/lb
    * Live sand: Free

Misc stuff (make an offer):

    * Frozen & dry food
    * Test kits
    * Nets
    * Extra eggcrate
    * Ornamental type decorations (used in freshwater tank)
    * Misc tubing, etc
    * Whatever else I might have laying around

All livestock is now gone. Those who have paid for equipment, you can pick it up anytime; I'll contact each of you privately. Other equipment is still available, so let me know if there is any interest.
