New Chiller

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.
 
Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)
 
You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

I just Don't know Angel that is a South Korean Made chiller With a great warranty... I went that rout with my first one My Pacific Coast Imports CL-650 rated a 1/4HP and that is Junk! That was the Main reason I tried to find some thing Made IN USA even if it had Foreign parts. Its is less than the one I got...Rick has a Pretty good 1/2hp Aquanetics that he was happy with and he also had a custom sea life which I have heard nothing but good stuff about but may be hard to find (no longer made)

I found a 1/4 hp one just like the one you bought on ebay so I sent the guy and email about a 1/3hp one and he has one left for $470 plaus shipping.  Let's see if I answered him fast enough since he sent the note to three other people.  Thanks

if its refurbished make sure it still comes with a warranty from the company, i bought a refurbished cell phone to save 40 bucks and its a piece of ....
but i got an extra warranty so i can now get it replaced, and i would hope you could get the same for a 500 dollar chiller

Angel you are saving a 100$ but if it is low on freon or needs one sevice call to get the kinks out??? I know some of the guys in the club are good with Freon(400 gallon tank guy's )  :wink: But??? I agree with Justin

Angel,
I would be VERY cautious of buying a "refurbished" chiller. In fact, I would not buy one at all. These chillers are used in very harsh conditions and the things just don't last very long. Even the titanium coils don't last forever. If you have already ordered it then feel free to call me when it breaks, we can work out some sort of deal.

It comes with a 90 day warranty and the guy says he can fix anything that goes wrong after that.  I checked his feedback on ebay and he has 100% positive feedback.  Everyone who has bought something from him has been very pleased with his service and products.  Sounds pretty trust worthy.

Just to let everyone know the chiller came in today and it looks brand spanking new.  If I didn't know it was refurbished I wouldn't have guessed.  The unit is refurbished by the company and he's just the middle man.  Like I said earlier it has a 90 day warranty from the manufacturer and he can fix anything after that or I can send it back to the manufacturer or call Les.  I am very pleased with the condition of the unit and everything powered up for the initial test.  Now to locate, plumb, and run the thing.
