Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

I have this one on my 150 gallon reef Tank I had originally bought a used Pacific Coast Imports CL-650 which is rated at 1/4 HP this unit will barely take care of my 75 gallon Reef tank. Which I don't recommend anyone buying very poor in quality. Now My Decision to buy the 1/3 HP Prime Chiller was Had to be American made and of good quality also the price factored in as well The Prime models are from what I can find the cheapest made in America Chillers out there ...FWIW...Jeff

It doesn't say on there what they cost.  Would you mind telling us what you paid plus shipping?  It seems I will need one as well.  Thanks

Angel this model draws about 6.9 amps on my circuit so If your using a 15 amp circuit watch it closely Cheesy  Tell the missis no vaccumes plugged in that circuit

Shipping to my door in Umatilla was Shipping: Ground:  $48.79
this was 150$ cheeper than buying it from anyone in Calf.

Controler is a single unit only turns on & off the chiller at any set point you put into it. A dual control would enable you to also hook up a heater or also run a light shutdown if your tank went hi temp. Remember Rick's episode last fall?  Chime in Rick and tell the gang about the advantages of the dual controler please. For me the cost was a no brainer give up the dual control and get UV Instade    Some day i may get another single controler for shutting down the lights If my tank gets to hot.
This Prime unit is doing very well House has been getting very Hot and chiller is flat keeping that tank at 77 no waivers!

Very Quiet Angel Its no louder that listening to you Refrige. But yes it flat kicks out the heat I have put it in my living room 3' away from the tank and it would help the house out alot if you could place it outside I just dont have that option Or even better do like what Rick did in his old house put it under the house I just don't have any heater vents close by   Running alot of fans to bring in cool air ...cost ......

One postive thing that i am seeing is I was loosing 3-4 gallons a day evap in my 75 tank and 5 gallon losses on my 150 ( way to much to keep heat down so This was putting way to big of SP gravty swings on both tanks the chillers have brought this down to 1.5 gallon in the 75 and 3 gallon in the 150 tank Keeping my salt in better check Iam learing alot of what to change and not to repeat when i build my new house thats for sure. Cheesy
