April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Can anyone (Les?) advise the best place to pick up all the plumbing fittings we are going to need to do our closed loop etc?  We will need 1 1/2" pvc (flex and regular)  and 3/4" pipe, Ts, elbows, bulkheads etc.  Also, eventually, ball valves (Darrel wants everything to have unions - he doesn't like having to work on stuff with a hacksaw - picky, isn't he?).  Our tank is almost done and Mojo is going to help with our CL, but we need to go shopping for the parts!  Any local vendors we should definitely check out or avoid?  All suggestions are welcome.  Thanks!

From what everyone has mentioned before Koi Joy in Kennewick should be ok.  I haven't been yet but will need to check them out soon.  Lowes and home depot both carry pvc and stuff but no bulk heads that I have seen.  HTH

Koi Joy has bulkheads, Lowes has spa flex up to 1 1/2". Lowes has good prices on valves. If all else, try Kennewick Industrial or Irrigation Specialists.

Go to Lowes for nearly all your fittings, they have the best selection with the exception of Kennewick Industrial.  Kenn Ind is high on the prices and hard to get into due to limited hours of operation.  Lowes has true union ball valves, but when looked at closely and compare to a higher quality ball valve such as Spears, the Lowes units dramatically reduce down the opening through the valve.  This can effectively make a 2" valve only flow the equivalent of a 1.5" pipe.  I do not know about Koi Joy, have not checked out their stuff.  They do offer the club members 10% discount.

Thanks for the advice Rick.  We are trying to find the time to go look, since Darrel got called in to work again today...no rest for the weary!
