April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Yes, folks....I am finally a true blue saltwater aholic!!!!!! Les made me an awesome sump and refugium and then Rick drilled my tank and put it all together! Barbie and I were definately huge helpers....The abselute best supervisors around! We took a few pictures and will post them soon. I may just host a meeting one of these days.

A million thanks to Les, Rick, Barbie, my kids(they were exausted just watching and not real happy to be without mom for the entire day), and my sweet husband who ran to Home Depot, Ace, True Value, and Home Depot again!!!!!!!!!! A real trooper. He even helped aquascape! The "bat cave is awesome!

Well, I think you got that right Angel!  Luckily, we upsized before we even got our first tank...went from planning a 55, to a 75, to a 90...a 120...a 140...and maxed out our available space at 150!  (Darrel put his foot down at removing walls - but I think Les has the right idea!)  What we all need is to win the lottery, build a new house that is 95% reef tank and 5% living space...better yet, hasn't anyone figured out how we could actually live IN our reef tanks!...

I'd like to be, under the sea, in and octopus' garden in the shade....

What's that you are saying about "balance"?

You know Vicki they do have a Reef Doctor you may need to visit!  (JK) Cheesy

I am forever in the thinking and planning stage even though I already have a tank set up and an upsize in the works.

Yeah, I can just see us now on Dr. Phil....Darrel says "Vicki is obsessed - she now wants to tear out some walls, throw the bed in the yard and turn our master suite into a huge reef tank!".   Dr. Phil slowly turns to me...the camera panning as he goes... "Vicki, what were you thinking?!"

Yup....  That dreaming of more, even when you are upsizing already, Angel... "How's that workin' out for ya?"

Hey, well, it could be worse, I could be into cars or motorcycles!!!  (that Harley sittin' in our garage would sure pay for some nice frags and fish!!!).

Could be worse than that....you could be like us, into cars and reef tanks!  We decided (for some reason I still don't understand) that this winter we were going to work on upgrading the car AND get a bigger tank.  We've spent every weekend since early December (except maybe 2) working on one or the other of these projects.  I can finally say I think the tank is to the point that I'm ready to start working on the plumbing though...so maybe by end of this month Rico's old tank will be our new tank!

Hey Nate,

Nice to hear from you.  I was beginning to wonder if the two of you had changed your minds about our little club.  I guess with all the car and tank projects you have going, it explains why you've been so quiet.  It's probably a good thing the snow has been so poor this year, or you'd have had to do more skiing as well.

Hope to see you and Colleen soon!

Yes, Tanks and cars are awesome hobbies.  I did a motor swap in my garage back in late January and it was cold.

I just dropped a load of money and paid for my rocks at Amazon, ordered 3 250w 20k MHs/ballasts/reflectors/bulbs, and two pumps.  The stand and canopy are getting built as we speak so all I have left is overflow, drilling, plumbing, and, setting up the sump.

Where is a good place to buy acrylic to make dividers for my sump?  Does anyone have some extra black acrylic laying around?  Les would you be interested in help  build the overflow for me?  Thanks

I got my black acrylic from Bond & Co. glass in Kennewick, over by Hastings on Kennewick ave (just past the McD's when you turn left coming from the bypass).

Nope, haven't given up on the club!  The last two meetings have been bad timing for us is all.  Jan. we were skiing at Mt. Bachelor, Feb. we were spending 3 days straight working on the car.  Got a lot done, but have much left to do.

As for seeing us soon...we would like that too!  In fact, I might end up calling this weekend for some advice on plumbing from Rico.  I hope to get most of the plumbing work done this weekend...we'll see how far I get.  If I run into problems, you guys will be the first ones I turn to for help! Cheesy

Looking forward to the next meeting!

Bond & Co is a little expensive for acrylic. I do have some 3/8 black laying around and would be happy to help with an overflow.
