April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

As many of you know, I'm kinda a 95% kind of guy when it comes to projects.  I will work my ass off building something and get it all functional and then quit.  No painting or molding or any of that crap.  Those of you who has seen my tank know exactly what I'm talking about.  A nice sturdy stand, but instead of a nice outside covering I chose a nice yellow sheet to finish the project.

Anyway I got a bug up my butt and had heard that Les is the man when it comes to building stuff.  So I gave him a call.  Man oh man..  Les is truly the man.  He hooked me up.  He came over and we talked and made some plans then he went and got some wood.  I went over to his shop and we built this thing in a week.  A brand new canopy and a facade for the stand.  This thing is beautiful.  Thank you very much Les..  You are the MAN..

Awesome job, Les!  I must say those red tights are da bomb!  Hey - did you paint the inside of Mike's cabinet with marine-grade paint?  Just wondering as we have been thinking of doing that with the stand that Ron is making for us;  Ron is another carpentry superhero among us.  Here are some pictures of our stand, in-progress at Ron's...

Actually the stand I had built some time ago.  And yes it is coated with marine grade paint.  but I would assume that you can coat with some good poly..  and it will fine..

Thanks Mike.  Yes, that is another option we've discussed and probably will go with the poly.  Again, your set up looks very nice!
