Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Well it has finally happened.  The MCSAC board has finally moved into the 21st Century.  We have upgraded the Club Bulletin Board to give you, our precious users, the ability to post pictures to your posts.

Here are the rules and Regulations
Pictures must be under 256kb in size
Picture Dimensions no larger than 800x600 or 600x800
No more than 5 pictures per single post (not topic)
Pictures should be in JPG format

Please use and enjoy this new service.  If you have any problems or questions with it, or the board in general be sure to let me know, by e-mail or post questions in the Ahh Man It's Broke Forum http://68.185.37.33/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=17.

Also I would appreciate it if everyone would make sure that their profile informations is up to date.  Specifically your location and your e-mail address.  We need the e-mail so that I can sent messages about the Message board status and members can contact you.

Thanks
Mike

So how do I shrink pictures to be able to post? I got pics of my tank now but they are too big.

Angel,

If you are using windows XP or 2000, you can install an image resizing too from the Microsoft Powertoy collection

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

This will let you easily resize your pictures to allow uploading.

You will need to shrink the pic in a 3rd party software.  Adobe Photoshop, ACDSee, IRFanView, or any other, or even the software that came with your camera should work.  Somewhere in the software there should be an Image Size option and just shrink it down to the appropriate size.  This also helps save on space.  Make sure when you save it though, you don't overwrite your original.  You may still want the original in full size for printing, editing or whatever else.

thanks

Here are some links to some free photo editing programs that will do just about everything and they are free..

IRFanview is a great thumbnail/photo viewing program, it has minor photo editing cababilities such as crop, resize, color fixing and contrast, etc..
http://www.irfanview.com/

Gimp is an Adobe Photoshop knockoff.  It will do just about anything you could want to do, to enhance a photo.  Might be a little overkill for the casual user.  But it is an amazing, and free program.

If you have any questions just PM me..
