April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

We checked out Blue Sierra - lots of really nice frags, lots of tanks and equipment - prices seem pretty high.  Yeah, it is in Issaquah.  It was worth the trip to go look.  Except for prices, we felt it was the best one we went to.  We also went to Saltwater City.  It was okay - had some cool fish we hadn't seen before and talked to Andy there for awhile.  We "tried" to go see Coral Beauty.  Made arrangements with Shelly to go to their house (I guess the business is run from their house, but they are actually going out of business).  We went over to Ballard and had arranged to call when we got there for more directions, but tried calling 3 times with no answer.  We sat on a side street for 20 minutes, waiting to hear from them, then decided to head to Tacoma.  No harm, no foul - something must have come up.  So, we went to Aquarium Dreams - I think that is the name, down near McCord on Pac Hwy - they had just done a home show at the Tacoma Dome and were pretty low on everything, but prices for some of the items they did have were much cheaper than Blue Sierra.  Then we went up to Indoor Reef on 6th Ave., which is really a tiny store, but lots of good conversation with the owners and employee and a customer who even invited us to come see his tank!  This was the guy that bought a tank on e-bay, flew to Atlanta, GA, put it in a truck and drove back to WA - and my husband thinks I'm obsessed!

We only ended up buying a couple magazines, (we always feel we should try to make a purchase, even a minor one, whenever the LFS people make an effort to answer questions and spend time with us).  Anyway, it was worth the trip - a day to play - up and back in one day, cursed at all the traffic, back to E. WA and feeling blessed to live here, and home to our own bed by midnight. Smiley
