April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

looks like a good start of hair algae.  It is a nusaince.  You really should get it out of the tank soon because with the right conditions it will multilply very fast on you.  Emerald crabs will help, so will hermits and some tangs.  None of my tangs would touch it, though I think it all depends on the individual tang.

Rick,

Nothing is eating the emerald crabs, hermits crabs and tangs. Can  I put it in the refugium?

Zul i have had this as well I try get rid of it. It seems to get worse if I feed heavy with Mysis shrimp I agree with Ed & Rick pull it and cut back on Feeding with Mysis shrimp also test your tank for Phosphate.
Mike @ Amazon Bay sold me some sea hare's and they tend to eat mine and keep mine at bay for what its worth. Smiley

Zul,

If nothing is eating it.  Pull the rock from the tank.  You can scrub it down with a stiff brush and physically remove it.  If it is a small rock with nothing important on it, stick it in the microwave and cook it for a minute or so, that will kill the stuff.

Otherwise, just let it dry out on the porch.
