April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Probably sponges or sea squirts.  Do they look like cotton balls with a little crown on them?

Angel,
That is exactly what they look like, but really small kindof like a Q-Tip. Are they good? Where did they come from? Do they just evolve?

Ok all, well Nikki at Reef Frontiers hit it on the head!!!!  It is Scypha Ciliata...hahaha I know, I can't pronounce it either! Anyhow, I am having trouble finding any info on it. I have searched and all anything tells me is that it is a sponge. :?  Anyone got any good links?
Thanks.

You will get more  :x  But then new things will start you will see small brown sponges the size of dimes growing and If all is very well your overflow pipes will start to encrust in coraline algea  Cheesy

They may not look pretty but they are filter feeders and they lower nitrates.  Not that they may put a dent in the amount of nitrates just getting started but they do contribute to lowering it.
