January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

I thought I would do a live demo of current in my new tank. And maybe show some options on supporting a large tank in your house.

Man that sounds great! But have we decided on the book meeting too though?  I really think wee could build a valuable resource for the club if we knew what everyone had and could ask to borrow!  Cheesy

Why settle for a 400 when 1000 gallon would be better?  Cool
Why not design the house around the tank?Huh??  Cheesy
Just think, you and your wife could each have your own 100 cubic feet of reef, and not have the hassle of multiple tanks to care for.  Cool
On a serious note, I have decided that the flow you all saw in the new tank last night was too much like a hot tub on steroids.    And to think that there is one more closed loop pump circuit going in.   I intend to change the 3/4 HP pump motor to the same one on the Amp master 7500. (1/3 HP capacitor start, 1725 RPM)
I also changed the tank jets for that 3/4HP unit out from 1" to 1.5" tank jets. That seemed to help on the splashing some but not enough.  Sad  I must say that I'm glad I have that set up in the shop and not here in the house.

A most impressive display of man's ability to be over the top.  Way to go Les.  But like Rick said last night "its beeter to have too much flow and be able to turn it down than not have enough flow."  That is going to be an awesome set up.

I wanted to add my thanks to Les for hosting our meeting.  Your hospitality (and your mother's) was greatly appreciated!

I also wanted to let everyone know that I have updated the website with pictures from last night's gathering.  Take a look . . .
