April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

I have a red macro-algae http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5580 which came in as a hitchhiker and has recently starting growing quite rapidly.  The closest thing I can find online that matches it is Halymenia floresia

I'm rather fond of the stuff and hope to use it for decoration and nutrient export, but I'd like to know more about it so I'm experimenting with it in different tanks.  I have no idea if any fish will eat it since I don't have it in a tank with anything that I would expect to find it tasty.

Right now I have a lot of extra, so if anyone out there is interested in trying some, let me know and I'll hook you up.

Oh - and if anyone has brillo/chaeto, I'm looking for some.

I think that's the same stuff we had that was very VERY prolific.  It did add a lot of color, and our Yellow Tang did pick at it.  Unfortunately, we ended up losing the entire tank due to a power failure while we were on vacation shortly after.

One thing with that stuff, it grows like crazy, so plan to thin it fairly frequently if conditions are favorable for it to flourish.

You can post pictures on this forum no problem as long as you have a place on the web to store them.  Then you just setup a link to goto it.  The problem people are having is that they don't have anywhere to store them.  And the forum server right now does not have that feature built in..

Thanks
Mike

Mike,

Could you please talk with Paul, (PSA) about upgrading the forum to allow posting.  He mentioned at the meeting last Friday that PHP modules were availble free that would allow this.  I mentioned that I would try to get the two of you talking and see if we could make something decent work.  I don't want to be a middleman.

Thanks
Rick

Anything it better than Cualerpa.  I have some razor but I keep it trimmed.  I'd like to try some of that!

Rick and Angel - I've got some for each of you, but I'll have to see what I can do about getting it to you.  My car is having a bit of trouble and I took the bus to work today.

I agree that anything is better than caulerpa.  Except for bryopsis.  And valonia.

Mike - I've seen this mod work pretty well on phpBB:

Paul,

If you bring it in to work (assuming Kadlec in Richland) I can stop by during the day and pick it up.

Ok,

If you bring Angel's I'll pick it up for him too.  Just send me an email in the morning (rick.berg@pnl.gov) with either your email or work ph.  I will probably stop by around lunch time but let you know before I show up.

Jeff: I do have more, now, if you would still like some.  When are you going to be in the Tri-Cities again?
