Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

You will need a way to move water, or place barrell at your house and pump it from barrel after you fill it up.  :?:

Shane,
I have a garbage can used for water you can use. Also, some buckets. If you need them, just let me know.

Hey Shane, if you are thinking of getting an R/O DI unit, I just ordered one from an e-bay store, Filter Direct, http://stores.ebay.com/Filter-Direct-store.  The one I ordered is listed as:  AQUARIUM 110GPD RO+DI REVERSE OSMOSIS FILTER   $90 buy it now, or starting bid of $86 (I figured for 4 bucks, I'd skip the bidding process).  I got a TD meter and a garden hose adapter too.  Came to $144.50 for all so I think it will pay for itself the first time I fill up my as-yet-to-be-aquired tank since LFS on GWay has R/O water at 75 cents/gal.  If I had the unit yet, I'd help you out with water...sorry I don't, but thought you might be interested in this one if you are looking.  Rick has the same unit.  Good luck with setting up your tank, hope all goes well.

that would be awesome ed, i dont know what would be easiest, if i can get 10 buckets w lids in the back of my mountaineer  i think that would work, they would be light enough for me just to pour in tank

does your barrel have a lid??, i could probably borrow a truck or trailer ...

Shane,
It has a lid.   Its just hard to get water out of it with small holes on top.

If you buy a filter I can let you use my RO unit to fill the tank and you won't need to move any water?  Let me know? It is slow but it works.

Hey Apprentice what kind of unit to you have?  I have never heard of unit that can process that much so quickly!

Bshane you can get the filter at Petsmart for like $30 bucks I believe  but I forget because only buy them every month and half to two months.  The filter is good for like 250g?  Loke I said I don't remember becasue I change mine out whether it needs it or not.

The Glegg water train Is rated at 250 gallons per min. It starts with a Muilti media filter designed to pull out organic particulates then It is run thru a Cation exchanger that removes the Postive charged ion particles (Magnesium and Sodium)It then is pumped thru a Decarbination unit to scrub out all co2 then it is pumped thru a Anion unit that removes all negativly charged ion particles ( Chloride,BiCarbonate,& Silica) after this process we would call this RO water we now run it thru a polisher that is a combination cation/Anion exchanger and it will polish the water to a ph of 7.6 and a conductivity .015 uhmous. We then store it in a pair of 435,000 gallon storage tanks   to be used Cheesy  Does a great job clean up your car  It can fill a tank in a hurry Smiley

We use this water for supply on our boilers Angel when you make steam and put water under intense pressure any particures will (plate out and stick to the tube walls ) So we use this ultra pure water to make steam with it...
