April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

As most of you know I bent a rod in my engine three weeks ago and so my wife and I have been sharing our other car until my engine comes in (that's a whole other story).

My wife works second shift in Hermiston, OR during the week.  This morning I was dead asleep when the phone rang which is always scary when I wake up and she's not there yet.  It was what I expected, she had slid off the road and hit the barrier on the bridge between Queensgate and Wellsian Way.  So she call 911 and then calls me. Long story short she gets hit by two cars over the course of 20 minutes while sitting there waiting for the cops to show up.   Naturally the damage to the car gets worse with every hit.  She was only doing 25 whne she slid so no major damage to the car there.  She is a little bruised up but she is doing fine.  So now we are in a rental until we find out what the Insurance company decides if they are going to total the car.

One this is for sure State Farm Insurance has taken real good care of us.  While I was still on the phone with them they had reserved my rental and made arrangements to get my car to a body shop.  I was still on the phone with them when the rental place called me on my cell phone with my rental information.  How cool is that.

Oh well life goes on and my engine should be here this week (I hope).  We should be ok in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the concerns.  Celinda is doing fine, like I said just a little banged up.  I have her doped up on Vicodin and Ibuprofen for the next couple of days until she can get around a little better.  She was driving our white Hyundai Tiburon.  It's at Atomic Autobody now.  Should be estimating the damage today.

Thanks for the prayers and the well wishes.  Looks like they are going to total the car.     We will have to wait until Monday to find out from the insurance company what they will give us for the car.  It will be hard to replace it because a lot of hard work and love went in to it.   Celinda is pretty upset about it since we just paid it off two months ago.

Angel, I hope your wife is OK after the accident. I also had an accident in the ice in Colorado 3 years ago. I turned over 4 times but I did not get hurt.

Zul I am sorry to hear that you had that experience.  This is the third bad thing that has happened to this car and it looks like the last.  Fisrt was golfball sized hail damage and then Celinda got sandwhiched in a car accident.  And now this happens at the most inopportune time.  Christmas is gone and so is the money.

Well the insurance company totalled the car and will be contacting us fill out the final paperwork on it.  We went by Thursday and took all of our stuff off and said goodbye.  The car was really good to us and Celinda was really proud of it.  It was our first brand new car and I bought it for her.  Now we are in the market for another car but the insurance money isn't really enough to buy something comparable.   We will see how this turns out.
