I stumbled on to these bulbs from a mail order company
they are compact flourescent 20 watts = 50/50 by coralife
50%10k and 50% actinic 03, I put two of them on a 25 gallon tank, along with two 10 watt 6500k similar bulbs i picked up at wal-mart.
the awesome thing about these is they screw right into a standard lamp socket(self ballasted) so those old incandescent light strips anyone might have lying around arent worthless, they can now be used for pc lighting
they probalby arent practical for large tank, but for a nano tank, potential is awesome, two light strips over 10 gallon=80 watts, 8 watts per gallon
