April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Want to check out how Rick spends three weeks of vacation and his Thanksgiving holiday?  Water should be moving by Friday, December 10th when you all come over for the club meeting.  (You all will be here, right?)

Check it out:  http://webpages.charter.net/rberg/

The tank is 240 gallon, there are two 40 gallon refugiums, and the sump is 90 gallons.  I'll let Rick give you any other particulars.  This stuff I can recite in my sleep, but I'm still learning about all that other stuff.   Smiley

Rick is outside polishing the corners right now.  It is looking pretty good, but will look even better once all the dust is out of it.  Mostly it's just the finishing touches on the polishing.  I made Rick stop for lunch though.

Just got the tank in the house last night and all polished up nice.  Tonight I am going to drill holes in the floor and connect the plumbing to the equipment in the basement.

I can't wait to see how the 2 Dolphin pumps will do, they each have a capacity of 7,500 gallons per hour!  That should move some water in the tank. A friend of mine helped caldulate the flow rate of the water exititing from the closed loop nozzels. It should be around 15 feet per second with 6 nozzels!  I added a 7th to slow it down a bit and think it will be around 12.5 ft/second now.

OMG that is one heck of a nice project.  I had no idea it was that huge.  I know Rick was at Amazon picking up some tanks for his Fuges but I didn't even imagine the complexity of his set up.   You can tell I am a newbie when I can't picture the enormity of a 240g tank.  I just measured my 150 and compared it to my living room and was like whoa!

I am not even going to try and compare his in my tiny living quarters.  Awesome set up Rick way to go.  I can't wait to come over and see it on Friday.
