Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Hi Gang I have adapted a 29 Gallon tank to my 150 reef unit the size is 33" long by 13" wide. I plan on putting one of my Rose Bulb Tip Anemone or my Purple tip Anemone In the tank with a nice piece  Of live rock that has a natural bowl in it this will set 6" under the water So the light wont have to go to deep I don't have the $$ to spend on some thing new any good used stuff out there Smiley

We have alot of old light fixtures at work i have been thinking of suspending a retrofit halide but the fixtures would suspend the bulb vertical my pfo fixtures all have the lamps mounted horizanel(spelling)
has this been done?

Jeff,
You can use the old fixture, just buy a new PFO reflector with mogel socket and use the ballast from the old. As long as the old ballast is an M59 it will work with any of the standard mogel socket lamps. I have done this before and it works well. You may extend the cord out using any #12 SO type cord you have laying around, connect with wire nuts or spade connectors. You can do whatever you want when it comes to laying out the ballast assembly.

You could try!!! If you do though, then you let the smoke out. That is a bad thing, all electrical thingies need to keep their smoke in them or they quit working.  Tongue
