April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

My tank is dipping a little too low in the temperature department.  I currently have a 300w submersible heater in my sump, but it just can't seem to keep up at night.  Any suggestions on a good, Powerful heater to add??

Mike,
I sure like the digital titanium heaters.   I bought one and have not had any problems at all.  I think mine is Won brand.  What type of thermometer do you have? (is it working ok?).

It's just a standard glass submersible heater I bought at Amazon.  But It just isn't powerfull enough to heat the tank at night.  So I need something to suppliment, and also as a backup..

How much about for the one you bought and where did you get it.  how many watt is it.??

Thanks

Mike,
I purchased a Jolly titanium 200 watt heater. It is digital heater. But
I only have a 90 gallon glass tank.  I am not sure what type of water pumps you are useing?  I know some water pumps create heat and current affects your temp too?
I was told to stay away from the 300 watt titanium heater.   Why I was told this was because it creates too much ( Gets HOT)heat too fast.      I was told If I needed more heat the safest way was to add
another small (200watt) titanium heater.   I picked my Jolly up at The  Coral REEF  in  Spokane for  $36 plus tax.  The best damn heater I ever had.   I love my 200 watt titanium heater.  They have a clean look in your tank.    It cured my cooling problem.   You may be able to find a digital titanium heater cheaper on the net. I would highly recommend Jolly

Hope this helps Smiley

In my set up I am running 2 300 watter's

I love the titanium idea because of the breakage issues.

It's better to have mutliple small heaters incase of heater failure.

It's a 350w Titanium from Won brothers or something like that.  It was pretty cheap.  But man it works good.  My temp is now rock solid.  Even with the heat in the basement swinging as much as 10 degrees throughout the day..

You going to make it to the meeting on weds, at my house??

I checked on the site and they are out of everything that I want.  And Ed was so very nice and picked me up a Dory "hippo tang" in spokane over the weekend.  I need a six line wrasse, and a blue linkia starfish..

Also I think mike beach and I want to look at getting something from thefarm or the sea farm...  The place with the zoos..  So let me know..
