Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

You forgot to mention that everyone had a great time.  It was my first time really being around everyone but I had a great time just listening in on people talk about their tanks.

Oh, and we met this cool dude who could get along with anyone...I think his name is Angel

Last Night,
I got a confirmaton from Anthony Calfo.   He will be here on August 5th week end in 2005.     I am not sure if he wants to fly into Spokane, Seattle, or Tri-Cities?    So the PNWMAC this year will be on August 5th Week end.
I am very proud to announce officially that Anthony Calfo will be at PNWMAC on August 5h Week end.    Cheesy

Ok Guys,
How big do you want this to be this year?    I have spoken to Anthony Calfo.   He has agreed to make it.    I heard from Eric Borneman today.  He is willing to pencil us in also.   We need to get together at next meeting and discuss this...If we got both Calfo and Borneman, This place will rock...

Wow - that would be outrageous!  I guess my questiona are:  how much and can we afford it?  This can be discussed at the next meeting, or if Barbie calls a meeting of those who volunteered for working on the event, but I can see no downside to having them both....with good publicity to hobbyists, we should fill the house!  That is really great news Ed!

thought i would chime in, last years PNWMAC was my first time interacting with the club due to my last 4 years up here in the armpit of washington, but i wanted to say it was amazing! I was pretty money tight at that time last year but would easily pay $30 this year for the same thing, and with Calfo coming that sweetens the pot even more. And i should (depending on the interview with Monterey Bay aquarium) be back in Richland for the summer and would love to help out as much as i can with the event. If you need to I can get any size shipment of coral/fish for the auction. Please let me know if there is anything i can do to help, moving tanks, holding tanks etc.
Thanks
Justin

Justin,

Thanks for the praise on last years event.  We were lucky to have great support from our club members.

This year we will try to follow the same type of agenda, we have confirmed Anthony Calfo and are still working on a second speaker.  Ryan Gent who did the talk on clams last year has agreed to come back and do a simple slide show and Q&A on Friday night.  We may have Dr. Adelaide Rhodes from www.oceanpods.com visit during the event. She has expressed interest.

When we get closer to the event I will know more about what we can afford to bring in for the auction.  We are still looking for commercial vendors to provide some sponsorship dollars or merchandise.  Thanks for the offer and we will take you up on some type of help.
