January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

Didnt walk away talked to the guy buying after. Turned out he wanted to set up reef tank. I informed him of the differences betweef a reef and fish only tank tried my best to help him . If they want repeat buisness they need to set people up right so they dont get discouraged and quit the hobby. told him about the club and if he had any questions to feel free to ask on the boards . I remember how having my tank setup wrong discouraged me mostly cause bad advise from so called experts "aqua Tropics" I wasted so much time and money. Other then Him amazon had some nice fish and frags in the fish were a little spendy though .

Also Mike found and had a Very Rare Red Male Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon ornatus)  to go with a Female Red one that i currently have.I  Hope to get them to pair up these fish have become quite a hard hurdle to get established but i belive i am getting It figgured out  Cheesy

The two bat fish (Pinnate Batfish) he had in there were gorgeous.  I have never seen anything like them.  Man they would be awesome for someone who could dedicate the time to their care.  Very delicate these fish!

I was in there today and the report is that both Pinnates died over night.  Hard to believe but I have got to hear the acclimation process.  They are known not to last very long in captivity but man 24hrs if insane.  Mike told me that he asked the guy to bring in a water sample and the fish.

He got a new shipment in today and it was skimpy but pretty.  A couple of rare flower sea urchins.  Some nice zoos came in too.

I don't remember seeing and red or burgundy colored ones.  Wish I knew you were looking though.  OCporkie on Reef Frontiers had a zoo tank spring a leak and sold off half his stuff.  I got red metallic, red, blues, purples, and green star centers.  Nice stuff if you ask me.  I got some PPE like ones too but they haven't colored up yet but other than color they look just like PPEs.
