Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Working as one to promote anyone willing to learn

I emailed Anthony Calfo and asked him how to make 2005 PNWMAC a success.     He told me he could possible do things to make this a success.   He suggested a work shop, or he doing two talks.     He stated he loved helping people and was willing to bring some Ultra Rare Corals to donate to Auction or Raffle.   I also talked with Kevin @ Aquatic Dreams.   Kevin said count him in.    I spoke with Mojo.   He said we could use some more foundation.   All the above have experience in organizing things like this.    I think these are expert opinions that should not be taken for granted.

With ticket presales we can be more organized.
With everyone doing a specific job it creates lsss stress
possible T shirt sales with PNWMAC emblem
Brent Barr would also like to be a Sponsor of Midcolumbia Saltwater

I am open for suggestions
Thanks Again for Making PNWMAC a success
sincerely

I think that he is saying we need to establish roots organizing this.     So it can be done easily in the future.    Establish a network where we can do this again.    We did a Awesome Job for 2 months no one can doubt that.      We could give each individual a task to do.    So it would be easier for all of us instead of the last minute rush.     Mike you busted your ass to make this work.

If the 2005 event is going to be sponsered by the club don't we need to follow a 'process' to ensure all the paying members have a vote & role if desired.

This will also help ensure that the folks who do the marjority of the work and investment of the most $$$'s are somewhat covered if something happens to wreck the meeting......like next time all the highways may be closed!!!

Cheers to those who when out on the limb and made it happen in '04.

I would agree if our club actually sponsered it. But we don't. We host it. All the funds were collected and covered by the sale of the tickets and coral auction. The PNWMAC has its on group of board members.

Goals to make 2005 a success...
Lay out a plan where all can connect and help out in some way.
Hopefully we can get corals like before...but acclimate them and keep them at one place if possible....and no sand in a the display tank..lmao..
maybe the Tank tour on a different day or on the same day as Barbeque.    But all in all I had one hell of a time!   Rick and Barbie did a lot of work.  They did my job with money.   They printed tickets.   They established a PayPal account to recieve moneys from on line and credit cards.    Rick modified his own little coral habitate, opened his house to Barbeque, and lots, and lots of other things.

Next year I will definitely make a effort to be more productive.    The feedback was very good.   It was nice to see the families there.   The open bar did not happen.    I know I spent money hurriedly on where ever I could find things as fast as I could.    I will work on being a better shopper next year.    The Food was A 1 top choice this year thanks to Bart and his magic Traegers.   Have you ever met a guy that could cook for so long, And how about how good He  cooked it, Primo Cooking.    My goal this year is to communicate with other clubs and establish a point of contact in each area where we can help out each other.   We are a small area compared to Seattle.  We have a lot of Heart for a area our size.   The other people from Seattle, Portland, Spokane, Montana, saw this....They now want to establish a once a month meeting to communicate like us..  You all should be proud of what you have done.   You gave part of your hearts, shared your family and your house with people that love this hobby.   They want to come back.   Now if I can work on the Weatherman to cool it down.   I did talk to the Hanford Meteoroligist.    He stated the first two weeks are typically hot.    This year was not a typical year.   It was blistering.   He said the average year is in the 90's in first of August to Mid August.   We had Humidity this year with heat.   So Maybe after the 15th next year?  Anthony has plans on the 26th of August.   We were cursed with weather and road construction.   But It worked, It worked because of all of you sharing...
