Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Hey, I just ordered something and will report back, but it's the Rio nano skimmer for tanks up to 20 gallons... I've read good things, but it's a Rio (ugh) and it's a dual purpose HOB filter and skimmer. The plus side is it's $30 shipped, new. So if it works, I'll let you know and maybe you can try it instead of dropping $80-$100 on a "real" skimmer!

Well, that's very good to know! I'm good with adjustment... I just have a 5.5 gallon so space is at a premium, and it's a mostly softy tank, so having both in one is perfect for me. But very glad to know it does the job!

By the way, I replied to your other post, too, about the frogspawn. Take a look over there if you get a chance!

Helllo Maire,
We have been playing Tag.    I highly recommend the older  Mini S Cone from SWC.   Its a beast!!!    You may bump SWC and see if they have any left.   They are updating that model to do even more...get it while you can.

Didn't you show me one for sale for about that much at the meeting?  Probably sold out now, though.

AVAST Pegleg cone skimmer kit.MP4

see if this works?   Maire, Here is a kit you can buy from Avast Marine for around 230 dollars.

Oops, it just sold.  But for the do it your selfer...You can buy the kit for less and buy your own sicci 2500 pump and modify the needle wheel for a fairly nice skimmer.
