April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Seem to have a phosphate issue in my tank that is making my algae really happy, so if anyone has a reactor for sale I'd love to take it off your hands.  I am not sure if Rick and Barbie have one for sale still or what their user name is.  Also looking for a Mag 7 and two storage tanks in the 15-30 gallon range.  Thanks--

Kyle, if you want to contact Rick, his name on the forum is Rico.  If you don't have any luck let me know and I will ask him when I see him next.

I take it you found out the phosphates are coming from the holding tanks?

I did a test on the water in the holding tanks and it came out at 2 ppm and read even higher past the 3 minute requirement.  Although I don't know how accurate the test was though because it is a saltwater test kit.  My feelings are pretty strong that the holding tanks are the source of it though.  The test kit is the API Reef Kit.  I'll send Mike and Rick a message tonight to see what they might have.  Thanks for the help

Kyle,
Mike is meeting with me Friday or Saturday.

The doctors office has a bunch of odds and ends.    a couple little giant pumps, a denitrator, a sump with bio balls, a Ocean clear pleated filter with  UV inside, etc.    You can make a offer and I will approach doctor with it.

I think a submersible pump is gonna be my best bet and for simplicity, so if he has any higher powered submersible pumps I'd be interested. I see Saltwaterfish.com has a little fishies brand phosban reactor, mj600, 150 grams of media for $66.  Just got the email today, sounds like I might jump on that and buy some extra media also.
