Mid-Columbia Saltwater Aquarium Club

April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Jeff,
I owe you an appoligy.   I have been very busy.  My wife decided she was going to pay someone to have the tree in back yard cut down.   She did not say I would have to clean it up.   So I got a Birthday present.   I got a back yard full of tree.   I have been cutting that...SOB all week and taking it to dump.
I have a flatworm problem.   I was focusing on it.  I did not want to introduce any more  snails and crabs or shrimp until I get it taken care of.   I should have gotten back to you sooner.   I am sorry.

Jeff wants to make a order.   Anyone that wants to get together with him please contact me.  The more that is ordered the cheaper it is for all.   I do not think anyone wants to use my tank for a temperary docking station.  I have that flatworm problem.   If needed I will make arrangements to have it dropped at my house?

I have bought a mandarin.   I also bought Flat worm exit.    I have not used it yet.   Its really hard to find flatworms.   I know I have them though.    Mandarin has been doing great.   I will use FWE when my hair algae is all gone.   I have been talking to people about this on Reef Central.   Rom Smeck said just let mandarin do its job.   I am still going with FWE.

Howdy Mike,
Yes I had them awhile ago, did the flatworm exit. Worked great. When Ed developed his flatworms, we thoght it came from my tank. SOme how we thought the faltworms lived past the flatworm exit. So we went and did the flatworm exit again to make sure that they were all dead. Yep they are.

Ed, do you want me to copy/paste your info into an email to see if the members want to do another order. I have found that emails are more successful then the forum at reaching the majority of the club.

Matt,
I do not see any flatworms in my tank now.    I still want to nuke it with FWE.   It is up to other members.   I won't be able to get anything until I have FW completely gone.    My door is open for people to pick it up at my house if they want.   Jeff has been waiting for a long time.   He has been more than patient.
It may be a good practice when you buy a new coral to dip it in FWE before you put it in your tank.   You slowly acclimate coral to your water in a outside container.    When you feel coral is ready.   You add FWE to container as perscribed on bottle one drop per gallon.    You wait about 5 minutes then you remove coral and add it to your tank.    Its time consuming but well worth it.

I agree about the FWE. You obviously can't be too careful with them things.

Issie and I would like to make an order from reeftopia.  How do we go about placing the order through the club?

If Ed wants to run another one, I can list it again. It has all the directions in who, what, where, why, how and when.

Reeftopia order will be in Wednesday at My house.   I would expect it there around 4pm.    I will be home.   I do have a dinner planned at 630pm.   I will be home but If you stop by after 6:30  it has to be brief please.   My neighbor is having a dinner with us.   We have been trying to have this dinner for about a month now.   I do not want to upset them.

Thanks in Advance
Ed
