I have been thinking about jumping into saltwater for some time but don't have the space for a big tank or the budget to support a big tank. When I found this though the gears started turning in my mind. I have a few FW tanks so I know a little about keeping fish. How much of that will transfer to salt I don't know.

My questions are:
Should I take the plunge with this tank? Or wait until I can get something bigger?

Is this even a good deal? Doing some research it seems like it will be $$$ to get this tank up and running. All I would want is some rocks a colorful fish or two and a shrimp or crab.

Selling my 12 gallon Nano Cube setup. This was a saltwater tank and has lots of mods.

300.00 Nanocustoms Larnie Hood. The hood will put out 120+ watts of lighting.

No leaks no cracks. Just no room anymore. Needs some cleaning, been in storage.

Last picture shows what this tank sustain. That was my setup. ----NOT INCLUDED---

That seems like a heck of a deal.  Make sure it holds water before purchasing.  And always assume the bulbs need replacing when buying used.  Smaller tanks are a bit harder for people new to the hobby since less water = less room for error.  Evaporation will be your biggest enemy because it will cause major salinity swings.  There are many cheap, safe, and easy DIY auto top off systems you could use though.  Either way it's still a good buy and a cheap way to get into the hobby.  I'd say buy it, and come to the next meeting to get a few pointers on how to get started.

Hope that helps
