January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

I have a great source for inexpensive snails, nerite and nassarius. Both are small, reef safe and dont knock over things. In quantities they are about .20 cents each, thats a shipped price. Anyone interested let me know and we can put an order together.

I'd be interested- put me down for 20 nerite and and 10 nassarius.  I'll be gone for about a week and a half starting the 4th of June so if they are shipped during that time frame I would need a temporary foster home.

Hi All...... to clarify the post a little bit, we will need to combine the orders to total at least 250 snails of each species to get the pricing. From what I understand it is recommended to have between 2 to 6 of these per gallon of tank size. This info of course comes from the vendors. I have about 250 nassarius and 50 nerites in my 90 gal. The nassarius snails in my tank pretty much remained buried in the sand all day and come out to clean at night. The nerites primarily just work on the glass. I have found the two of them make a great team.

Lets see if we can get the order ready so I can place it Friday for delivery next week.. or is that too soon? Should we give it until the end of next week? Give me some input. Thanks!

If you're still taking orders for the snails.....I'll take 100 or each.  What day are you expecting delivery?

I was thinking at this point it would be best to order next week. That way there would be time for more people to order if they want and also time to get together to collect funds for the purchase. Send me am IM or post here so we can finallize everything. Thanks!

Let me know what your timing is.  I could signup for between 100 and 200 of each.

Hi,

I am new to this site, I live about an hour out of town.  I come to town every Tuesday.  I am interested in getting some snails, I currently have a 29g tank, and am rebuilding a 75g.  I would like 30 of each or do you think that would be to many.  Thanks  ~Rene'

I recommend one snail per gallon myself.  My thoughts are  30 for 29 gallon would be fine.    I would worry about food supply.
