April meeting 4/14 @ 7PM - Grant's house

Laura and Jim will be hosting the May meeting this Saturday the 12th and it will be the usual of food, drinks, raffle and fun.

Doors will be open at 6:00 pm for social talk and the meeting will start at 7:00.  Parking gets a little tight and the city says you can't park on 4th but there is a parking lot a block away.   Meeting is usually held in the backyard so feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair, weather permitting of course.

If you need address/directions, contact a club member.

Best if you park at Mini Mall (where the spaghetti establishment use to be)

You will get to see his new frag tank set up in the making.

Hope to see you there!

Hi everyone,
I am new to saltwater tanks and have a 55 gallon with 53 lb of live rock and 40lb sand. I have a rena cannister filter, 2 Koreli 4's but I need lighting and a skimmer. I am already far over what I expected to put into this and am hoping that someone has some lights and a skimmer that they would sell me rather cheaply. Though I would like to set up a sump + skimmer etc. I am still reading up on those and probably cannot afford it at the moment. So for the time being a hang on would be fine to get by. I am going to run a rock and fish tank and move into reef system after I have learned more and am more comfortable with maintenance and compatibility. I would prefer a pin wheel skimmer but I am not picky and will take anything for now. As for lighting, I would prefer vho or metals but of course will take anything for now. 4 or 5 t5 setup etc.
I can post or send pictures if you want a good idea visually of what I am running.

I have an AquaC Remora Skimmer I'd sell for $75.  I'd use a Mag-3 pump for it, they seem to work really well with the Remora's.  It has the drain fitting and a plug for it if you decide not to use the fitting.  It's about 3 or 4 months old and in like new condition.  I paid $175 for it new, but I recently upgraded tanks.

Bump,
I am still in need of lights and a skimmer. If anyone knows how to make a sump I could get an in sump skimmer which would just be better anyhow so I don't have all this stuff hanging off my tank!

Oh crud, I wish but I should have stated what size I need. I need 48's for my 55gal. It is 48 inches long. Are they retrofitted...could bolt them onto canopy I suppose.
