January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

I suppose I should introduce myself. I have just started a 55 gallon tank that for now will be fish and rock. I don't want to move into reefs until we have bought a house in the next year or two. I live and work in Richland and have 5 children that pretty much takes up alot of my time after work. I have wanted to start an aquarium for many years and finally felt that it would be a good time to do so, a hobby that I can just kind of melt away with and also involve my kids with as they get older. I would really like to see some of your tanks and talk sometime as that would give me good idea's. I hope to meet many of you at the next meeting whenver that is as I plan to attend.

Welcome Brian, keep an eye on the Next Meeting section at the upper left.  That will change when the meeting gets closer.  You may need to post in the thread that is linked in that notice to get directions, but someone will be glad to get the info to you.  April 10th is the next meeing at the home of another of our newer members.  Unfortunately I won't be there for that meeting, but the May meeting will be at our house, we've got a 270 gallon SPS reef that we built the house around (literally - the foundation is 12" thick under the tank).  So, hopefully you will be able to make the May meeting to come see our tank.  If not, get in touch and we can set up a time for you to come out and see it.  There's a lot of other nice tanks around town too, meetings at different homes every month, so that's a great way to see a bunch of tanks with enough time to absorb how each person has set things up in between.   Wink

A 55gal FOWLR tank should be a great way to get started in the hobby.  What are you running for equipment?  Give us some details on your set up and let us know if you want any recommendations for how to make things better if you are missing anything crucial, someone here can definitely tell you what, and where to find it.

Look forward to meeting you at an upcoming meeting!
