Finally setup the 90!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.  
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.

I finally have my 90 up and running. I still need to get the sump hooked up and get rid of the hang-on filter, and install the lighting properly, but it is now at least occupied. I will probably have this project wrapped up by the first of the year, and them will move on to water top off system and replacing the CF lighting side with MH. Thanks to all who helped with advise and other things to make my setup a reality. MCSAC is the best!

I've got a good set-up to use if you are going to use a reservoir for top-off.  If you are intersted, let me know and I can get you the shopping list and send you directions on how to hook it up.  It lets you have 2 floats that activate a latching relay to let the reservoir be emptied until the low float drops before starting to fill, then filling until the upper switch turns your RO/DI back off.  Minimizes the amount of contaminates that get past your RO membrane by letting it run for long lenghts of time instead of on/off al the time when a single float is activated.  Have to give credit to Les for passing this on to me when we were setting up our system.

Grants will be the 9th, not the 11th.  I'll try to get you a parts list by then.  I'm in the process of tearing down the frag tank and getting the 29 gallon back up and going right now though, so pretty busy.  Trying to solve the mystery of the 1-day-to-death for corals in the frag system...fish do fine, but corals die overnight.    Going to tear it apart to try to figure out why.
