January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

That is an impressive collection of rics! It looks to me though that you may already have what I have. I will send you some pics tomorrow though. I am not quite sure if i can upload them, but if I cant i  will send them by email. I think you are the guy my son told me about with the ricordea tank. Did you have the maroon clowns?

I have a quick question.  Do you cut them yourself or let them split on their own.  If you are cutting them, how do you get them to stay on the new rock?  And are you selling any of them?

I usually just let them split on their own but I have cut them and fragged that way too. I do this by cutting off about a third of the head, dont cut through the mouth, placing the frag on a rock and putting bridal netting over it for a couple of weeks. I will sometimes also set it in a dish of rubble and let the frags attach to that, and then glue the rubble to a larger rock.

Thanks for the advice. The website you sent me to helped a lot too.  I like the idea of putting rubble in the bottom of a shot glass with the mushroom on top of the rubble and then setting it down in the tank.  I will have to try that with mine next time I split them.  I have blue, green and rainbow rics already, so I would be interested in an orange and any other color other than what I have.  Just one of each would be ok.  Let me know what other colors you would be willing to sell and I'll see what I may want.  Thanks again.

I did the rubble trick and it worked great until my urchin decided he wanted a new decoration and picked up the 'shroom and the cup and carried them around.
