January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

I've got a lionfish that I need to get rid of.  I had him and an eel in a seperate tank and all the equipment went bad on that tank (it was old used stuff that was given to me).  I had to put both in my reef tank and now I'm worried about my pair of clownfish that I've had for over 3 years.  He seems to be eyeing them a lot more lately.  He's almost 4 inches long, very pretty fish, but just a bit to big for my small reef fish.  If anyone has a tank with nothing smaller than 2-1/2 inches he should be ok with them.  Because of this problem I'm willing to watch him go for $30.00.  I also have some red and purple mushrooms that I would sell for $5.00 each.

Are you willing to hold on to those shrooms for me until we move up there?  I would buy them all!

Send me an IM and I will be happy to buy some if you need to get rid of them sooner. I can pick them up later tonight if needed.

Cannedmulder, I can split several more if you really want some later.  They can be ready to go in about two weeks.  If I'm spliting them I can get some ricordea's also.  But I really need to sell the others now, money is a bit tight atm.  If you want me to split some let me know and I'll get em started asap.  I want $10.00 for any ricordea's and $5.00 for red or purples.  I can get 2 ricordea's and 6 others.  Let me know.

Jerry, I have one purple and one red if you want them now.  Any day this week after 5 pm or this weekend would work best for me.  I live in Heppner which is about an hour south of Hermiston.  Let me know if you want to do that and I'll get you directions to my house.

Thank you both for your interest, anything would help me a lot right now.

I could paypal you money now if you like!  I would love some ricordeas and reds and purples!  I don't think we will be up there for about a month though! Do you ever come to Bend/Redmond?  Or when we are driving through maybe we could meet you in Boardman or Biggs or somewhere like that?  My husband comes through often as he is looking for housing.

You don't need to worry about money now.  I'll get them split and growing on new rocks.  In a month they will be attached and growing good so we can arrange something then.  Just reply to this when you are moved up.  I'll keep you posted on their growth and maybe I'll get some pictures on here too.

Well the spliting didn't go as well as planned, but I did end up with a few good ones.  I got a green ricordea on a small peice of live rock.  It is almost an inch accross now.  I also have a red mushroom on about a golf ball sized rock and the mushroom has split several times.  There are now four small ones growing around one that gets about 3 inches when the lights are on full.  I'm still working on the purple rock for you.  The splits attached to the screen around the rock, so I've been tampering with it to try to get them anchored on the rock instead.

As far as prices I think we're around $30.00 with the green ric. and red mushroom rock.  If I can get the purple rock fixed up I'll come up with a price on it at that time depending on how many I get attached to it.  You're welcome to come get the two I have ready anytime now.  Let me know when you're ready.

No problem, I've been really busy myself and a few more weeks will give me some time to try splitting some more for you.  The purple mushroom rock is growing nicely.  I am going to try again on the rics.  They are harder to do because they lay so flat on the rock.  I've got one that has grown back to a good size, so I'll give it another shot.  I'll be out of town the last week of this month, so if we don't have something planned by then, it will have to be in Nov.  I'll try to check in here more often.

I'll be gone for the next two weekends for hunting season.  I'll be home during the week days in between and you are welcome to come pick them up in the evening.  I'm home after 5:30 usually.  I've got a lot of things ready to go that you can pick from, or just take them all.  If you would like to call me my home number is 541-676-5557, you're welcome to leave a message and I'll call you back.
