January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

Aquatropics off 395 in Kennewick is about the only other place, but we tend to go to Spokane, Seattle, or go mail order.  The stuff over there is not in the greatest shape, and is usually way overpriced.

As for Amazon Bay, Eric sold, new owners didn't have a good grasp on what they were going to need to do, and went under nearly immediately.

OK thanks..  No good LFSs in Yakima?

Looks like I'll have to make a trip west in a month or two..
Are Aquarium paradise in Lakewood and Midway Pet still good stores on the west side?

I used to go with them when I lived in Gig Harbor.

What's good in Spokane?

There are no good shops in Yakima AT THE MOMENT, but soon the new owner of Pet Paradise (now Pet Pantry) will soon be selling corals and saltwater fish. She is just now setting up a display tank. She just needs to get her hands on another tank so she can have a tank to store saltwater fish.

As for a place to go now there is a pretty good store in Spokane with awesome prices for corals. The store name is the Saltwater reef of Spokane a here is a link of it from yellowpages, http://www.yellowpages.com/name/Spokane-WA/reef

If you can get to Portland they have some of the best stores that I have ever been to.

Hope that helps.

This response might be a little late.

I unfortuneatly always forget the names of the pet stores.  I usually use yellowpages to remember their names.

Sorry I can't more help.

Nate is Correct both of these stores can't be beat for selection you will have just a perfect smorgasboard of coral and live stock to cherry pick from. Another little hole in the wall kind of close to us is City Zoo Pets & SuppliesCity Zoo Pets & Supplies
2304 Eastgate St
Walla Walla, WA 99362
(509) 525-1160‎

call before you make the trip they have only about 14 salt water tanks and this is older info I haven't been to the store in a long time If Kyle see's this he might have some better info..

I'll second that.  Kevin's shop has a lot of good stuff, and he's a great guy with a lot of knowledge.
