January Meeting 1/14/12 @ 6PM! - OFFICER ELECTIONS!

Beau is hosting the January Meeting this coming Saturday the 14th at 6PM.  It will be BYOB as well as a snack to share and raffle items are always welcome.  It has been requested that there be “NO SHOES” on the carpet due to it being a whitish color.

He doesn’t have a tank to view but we will have plenty to discuss in hopes that it will get the NEW YEAR off to a good start.  The annual membership fees are due, so now would be a good time to get them in to our Treasurer Stacey Hahn.   Fees are $20 per individual or $25 per family

Attendance was low at the election meeting in November and no votes were taken at December’s meeting so we have decided to take votes for anyone that didn’t get the opportunity in November and will be attending this meeting.
We will add the votes to November’s ballots and the announcement will be made during the meeting so we can go forward.
NOMINATIONS:
President:  Jim & Nacho
V. President: Ed, Bo & Daniel Leigey
Treasurer: Stacey
Secretary: Carmen & Angie

Let’s hope the New Year brings new members, returning members and new ideas.  The club is always willing to take suggestions to get the most out of the hobby we all enjoy.

Please PM Nate C. by clicking here for directions if you are not a club member.

Club members can click here to go to the club member only forum to get directions.

Hope to see you all there!

I just had a bit of a tank crash.  One of my tanks has been going downhill for a while, but I guess it finally had too much and the big anemone died.

I could use about 30G of water, if anyone could help.  Thanks.

Thanks for the offers, all.  This is hard for me to do, but I need to find home for my last surviving clam.  It's a nicely colored maxima clam with a bit of nuisance algae on it (including caulerpa racemosa).  There's not much else in my tank worth saving anymore except the homeless percs and a bicolor pseudochromis.

It looks like I could still use a bit of water, too, though I don't know how to transport it (maybe 15 gallons).

Paul,
park it at my house and pick it up when you are back to normal if you want.   You have my cell number.  I am betting my Naso will have your clam clean in about two to three days if not a day.

Paul, we have about 30 gallons of salt water that was made up day before yesterday.  I'm working in town tomorrow instead of out on site, so let me know if you still need some salt water or fresh water and I can bring a few 5 gallon buckets down to you.  Cell # is 366-9693.

Paul,
I wanted to say thank you for your help today.    My Tangs thank you for algae.    Your clam does not have any algae on it at all right now.    I put the clam in after you left in corner we discussed.   My Naso and foxface went to work on it immediately.   I did not see it with lights on.   But did see it right now at 1240am to see no algae.   So I will look at it first thing tomorrow when all my lights are on.   The enjoyable thing about this hobby is all the good people willing to help each other.

thanks again,
Ed

Paul,
When I looked at your clam the following morning.   The mantel was receded on one end.    I am hoping he will pull out of it.   I hate giving you this information.

Well, considering the state of the tank he came out of, he wasn't going to make it there.  Thanks for letting me borrow the R/O unit--I'm getting secondary tanks set up and running water changes in the crashed tank.

And thanks also to all who offered assistance.  My schedule has been crazy, and this was just that much more on top to deal with.

Paul,
Clam is still alive.  I moved him to higher light.   I am doing my best to make sure there are no sudden changes.   My other clams are doing fantastic.   I am betting he will pull out of it.

Paul,
You are very welcome.   I  just do not want to let you down.  Thank you.

Paul,

I've got your temp controller free (finally).  Let me know where/when I can get it back to you.  Our new tank is up and going, and the old one is at Jim & Lora's now!  :-)

We'll be there tomorrow.  Will bring the controller with us for you.  Thanks again for the longer-than-expected loan!  :-)
